EQT-100 Pin Cutter Machine
The EQT-100 Pin Cutter Machine is a semi-automatic hydraulic press specifically designed for cutting the stem of lollipop samples and producing pins either from the extracted stem itself or from a metal rod. This process makes it easier to handle samples for subsequent analysis using a spark spectrometer, as well as producing pins of the required size for elemental analysis in automatic analyzers such as CS, N, and H₂ analyzers.
The EQT-100 replaces manual shear cutting, eliminating the common issues associated with this method in steel plants.

The EQT-100 Pin Cutter Machine applies up to 10 tons of force through a cutting blade to cut the stems of “lollipop” samples (solidified metal samples from molten metal melts), as well as to produce pins of various lengths from solid rods made of virtually any metal.
The EQT-100 can easily cut round medallion samples, oval medallions, and double-thickness samples, as well as section rods up to 10 mm in diameter.
Samples are placed inside a specially protected compartment with a safety enclosure, preventing any movement or displacement during the cutting process.
Cutting the rod also enables automated handling by an articulated arm, eliminating the need for operator intervention and improving laboratory workflow and productivity.
The machine also includes a specialized tool for controlled cutting of rods or wires, enabling consistent sample weights for elemental analysis.
The cutting blade is made from specially hardened steel and features a cubic design, allowing the use of all 8 edges to significantly extend its lifespan.
